Productivity 1 : 0 FB

Last night I deactivated my facebook account. I feel SOOO FREEEE!!!

With my new found freedom comes lots of space to be creative and productive. Today I made a makeshift storage box for my shelving unit.

Crikey only 2 years since my last post?! What have I been doing?! Oh, I guess I was at college for a year... Then sorting my life out a bit, starting a new job and oh moving house for times over the last year!! Phew! Finally somewhere or like to stay a while though.

I'm not even unpacked and already I'm wanting to start projects.

1) A little bike shelter for the house bikes in the back garden, as there's no shed, garage etc. This is Bristol: everyone cycles, so it will definitely be a valuable addition to the house, even after I've moved out.

2) Having seen one in a neighbour's bedroom, I now want - need! - to build a loft bed! Something like the photo below. My room is fairly small so it will mean a much more economical use of space. Plus, they're just fun!

Un-officially the most neglected blog on the interwebs...? Well, maybe, after http://www.tumblr.com/blog/fuller-circle .... or http://365project.org/empotential/365 ....

Yeah so that project? Didnt happen. Shocker! :-b Ah well. I'm still full of intention. And sometimes that does push something out there into the world. I've started doing some sketching at work which is good. Working on tattoo designs (for myself) and other random drawing practise.

Just for the sake of adding *something* ... a couple of versions of a photo I took (fairly) recently....

New year, new project

In addition to my "new camera" Project 365 (which, by the way, is going pretty well, aside from my sporadic uploading) I've decided to celebrate the 2012 Chinese New Year of the Dragon with another project. This one is to encourage me simply to make more art. Hence I'm pledging to make one original piece of art/ craftwork each week, and post it as my fb 'cover' image for one week.

So here is week 1:

Red balloon

Well I was pretty much forced to do this, using the tools available (Gimp in this case).... I looked out my office window to see a little red balloon flying away, past clouds and patches of blue sky. I was too slow (it was too fast) to grab my camera and even if I'd managed, it would have been a dot with the strength of my zoom! Needs must.

Clearly I couldn't be bothered with the detail in the foreground! The sky and balloon are what matters.

New book

I started a book this week, for the first time since finishing college over a year ago. Yesterday and today were mostly spent with a spot of paper cutting.
