Derby Love

How could I not have mentioned Roller Derby yet?! Am I crazy?!?!

I'm in love....Derby love!!! I have been seduced by the Derby Side....! I even had "the talk" with my Taekwon-do instructor last Wednesday to explain that "I wanted Derby to be my main thing" and that I wouldn't be training as regularly any more... He was cool about it, of course, but I was so nervous, it felt like a breaking-up conversation :-s Seven and a half years is a looooooong time!! But I cant help it, I've already checked out. I think I had a while ago, but do actually enjoy the training, so kept going. Its a funny paradox. If I could train in martial arts in the context of Buffy the Vampire Slayer I think I'd be happy, but its all a bit....eh, I dunno...

Anyway. I haven't skated since before Christmas and I'm GAGGING to get back on the track!! With Christmas, having major flu, then moving (not to mention training time clashes) it just hasnt been possible, but as soon as the dust settles I'm there!! :D

We're moving!!! :D

We searched - well, I searched :-b - and found a flat!! First one we saw, we loved and its now ours! So this Saturday we're moving...! Very. Excited. Been busy packing, but so far not too manic. I'm hoping I'll be a bit more creative there, with a bit more space to myself - and an arty buddy round the corner ;) Speaking of Manic (Panic)...been thinking of dying my hair purple again!

Eh, busy applying for jobs too....things are pretty uncertain at work at the moment (and temps are always the first to go), so taking every opportunity that comes up! I've found five (I think!) so far between here and the other local Uni - all of which are due in in the next fortnight! - so I should hopefully be okay!

So er yeah...watch this space! ^_^ In the mean time: an oldie but a goody.

Excuses

Weeeell I still haven't scanned any art work... I have no excuse, just that I never seem to have the time (or inclination I suppose)! I am working full time and weekends are always busy. But scan I must so scan I will! At some point. Since my last post however, I have had some thoughts and realised that what I really wanted all along was an online portfolio rather than a blog. Lord knows I like to talk, but that can be something separate now.
